Spider-Man webslings his way onto the PS4 September 2018

Originally announced at E3 2016, Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man game has been lurking in the shadows for quite a while now. Thankfully though, a release date has finally been confirmed.

Spider-Man will release exclusively on PlayStation 4 on September 7th 2018 and if the trailer below is anything to judge by, it’s looking smooth as silk.

James Stevenson, Community Director at Insomniac Games, stated on the PlayStation US Blog:

It’s been an incredible experience for us to spend the last few years working on this game. From getting to create our own unique universe and story for our favorite Super Hero, to working with our talented collaborators at PlayStation and Marvel Games, to developing relationships with the Spider-Man and Marvel fan communities (#SpideySquad represent!), it’s been an amazing journey thus far.

Spider-Man will launch with 3 editions, these being the standard, digital deluxe and collector’s edition respectively. South African pricing has yet to be confirmed but fans can expect a hefty price tag on the collector’s edition.

The digital deluxe edition features the game and 3 post-launch story chapters while the collector’s edition will feature the same post-launch DLC with an additional mini artbook and gorgeous Spider-Man statue thrown in. Interestingly, along with the statue is an item that is yet to be revealed due to its plot spoiling nature.
