Vodacom launches Ticket data bundles

Vodacom has introduced a new set of data bundles that restricts data use to a handful of apps.

The bundles are called Tickets and only allow users to access VuClip Videos, Netflix, DStv, YouTube, Showmax, Deezer, Apple Music, Joox, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, VuClip Games, Vlive Games, SGN, and Gamemine.

Each site or app is grouped into one of four Ticket types namely: Video, Music, Social, and Gaming.

Tickets are valid for one hour or one day and you can see the pricing and size (in MB) of the Tickets below:

Hourly Tickets
Ticket Size Price Apps
Video Ticket 100MB R5 VuClip Videos, DStv, Netflix, YouTube, Showmax
Social Ticket 100MB R5 Facebook (excluding Messenger), Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest
Music Ticket 80MB R5 Deezer, Apple Music, Joox
Game Ticket 80MB R5 VuClip Games, Vlive Games, SGN, Gamemine
Daily Tickets
Video Ticket 250MB R8 VuClip Videos, DStv, Netflix, YouTube, Showmax
Social Ticket 250MB R8 Facebook (excluding Messenger), Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest
Music Ticket 150MB R5 Deezer, Apple Music, Joox
Game Ticket 150MB R5 VuClip Games, Vlive Games, SGN, Gamemine

“Vodacom is continuously looking to deliver value for money offerings to our customers, and Ticket is no different. Our customers can engage in the things they love the most without the fear of spending more than they wanted to. That is what Vodacom’s Ticket bundle is ultimately looking to achieve so watch this space as we continue to evolve the product,” Vodacom’s Nyimpini Mabunda said in a statement.

Tickets will be available until 1st June and can be purchased by Vodacom customers by dialing *123#.

These Tickets seem like a good way for users to control their data spend a bit better. We also can’t really argue with 250MB of data specifically for video streaming for just R8.
