The Solution Space operating out of the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business has partnered with MTN to offer digital startups an incubation opportunity.

The Winter School Venture Incubation Programme invites 10 digital startups to apply for a three month mentorship course (with support provided by MTN) and support to the value of R300 000.

This support includes mentorship, advisory services, and access to corporate and investor networks. The Venture Incubation Programme will also host workshops where participants will be guided through business fundamentals such as marketing strategy and business model development.

“The early stages of a startup are so critical and often the least supported time in the life-cycle of a startup. We aim for maximum impact at this stage and for start-ups to leave our incubator with a thorough understanding of the fundamentals required for a viable solution,” said the manager at the Solution Space, Sarah-Anne Alman.

The Summer School Venture Incubation Programme is wrapping up at the moment and startups that participated will be given the chance to showcase their innovations at a Demo Day on 26th June 2018.

The Demo Day serves a dual purpose – current participants have a chance to put their business in front of investors and corporate partners of The Solution Space. The second purpose is for prospective participants to see what the Venture Incubation Programme is all about.
