rAge NAG LAN tickets go on sale this weekend for R700 a pop

Tickets for the NAG LAN at rAge this year go on sale this weekend and while tickets are pricey at R700 each, there is some good news for gamers.

That news is that for the first time ever ticket buyers will be able to select an area they would like to sit. This is significant because in the past it was very much a first come, first served situation.

“For the first time ever, gamers will be able to pre-select their preferred experience in three dedicated LAN areas when purchasing their tickets. Two of the areas will be fully carpeted, one area will have padded chairs, and two areas will be quieter and more secluded from the noisy expo show floor,” says owner and project manager at rAge Michael James.

To that end the show floor space will also be a bit bigger than previous years owing to the changes to the LAN.

The organisers have also said that gamers will be able to sleep next to or underneath their table and security won’t disturb them.

As to connectivity at the LAN servers will be provided by Nutanix, switches by Aruba and broadband connectivity by MWEB Fibre.

“We have architected the NAG LAN platform to run virtualization for a high-volume traffic environment, a step away from the bare-metal architecture they have used in the past. We are looking forward to seeing the benefits this yields for the gamers in a live environment,” said Nutanix’s sub-Saharan Africa country manager Raul Ruinaard.

Tickets for the NAG LAN at rAge go on sale at 09:00 on Saturday 28th July at Computicket outlets and online. Tickets for the LAN are usually gone within minutes of being available so be sure to be awake and online at 09:00 to avoid disappointment.
