Space Hulk: Tactics has a promising new trailer

Gather around, Warhammer 40K fans, it’s time to take a spin of the wheel and see if the newest game using our beloved licence – Space Hulk: Tactics – will be of any quality.

What’s that? Is this hope that we’re feeling? For Gamescom 2018 publisher Focus Home Interactive has released a new trailer for the game and we’re cautiously optimistic.

We thought that this was just going to be an overly dramatic cinematic, but there’s a deluge of gameplay, information and the mechanics of the game here too.

A big draw here is also the two separate campaigns, letting the player choose between the Space Marines and the Tyranids. One odd exclusion in the trailer is customisation for the Tyranids, as only the Space Marines were shown off in this regard.

This is not only the latest title to use the Warhammer 40K licence, but also the Space Hulk moniker. Tactics looks to be the most faithful game yet, sticking very closely to the mechanics of the physical game only with all the fancy graphics and conveniences that come with playing it on a PC or console.

The last time we played a Space Hulk videogame it was the uninteresting and buggy Deathwing. That game also had many promising trailers and a superb art style, just like Tactics does here, so we’ve learned to be cautious until the full release on 9th October.

You’ll be able to play Tactics on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
