There have been many “celebrity” Dota 2 announcers over the years and now the best announcer has been added to the game.

As a “Thank you” to all owners of a The International 8 Battle Pass, Valve is giving players the Gabe Newell Mega-Kills announcer pack.

The news came by way of a skit featuring long time International MC Kaci Aitchison and Dota streamer Jake “SirActionSlacks” Kanner.

In the skit the pair battle with the lethargic Valve boss who doesn’t quite have the energy needed to be a Mega-Kills announcer. There’s also a joke about Half Life 3 because of course there is.

The Mega-Kills announcer pack is available now to all The International 8 Battle Pass holders.

Thanks to the power of the internet however, you can hear Newell’s voice lines without having to own a Battle Pass or even play a game of Dota.

Battle Pass owners also received 10 free levels from Valve as a gift for pushing the prize pool beyond last year’s total. As it stands the current prize pool amounts to $24.9 million.

The International 8 Main Event is currently underway at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver and concludes this Saturday.
