AfricaCom calls on startups to submit pitch videos

The organisers of the largest tech and telecom festival in Africa – AfricaCom – have submitted a challenge to startups.

The organisers have called on African startups to submit a three minute long pitch video for a chance to win all access passes to AfricaCom as well as a possibility to pitch at the event.

Pitching sessions will take place on the AHUB stage at the event.

So what do you need to do to win?

While the competition is open to all African startups you must have raised less than $1 million in funding and have been founded in within the last four years.

The three minute video submitted by startups much answer the following questions about your company.

  • What problem are you trying to solve?
  • How are you solving this problem?
  • Have other companies attempted to solve this problem before and if so why is your company’s approach unique?

“As long as you meet these guidelines, please feel to take any approach you want to your video pitch. We welcome creativity,” wrote the AfricaCom organisers.

Pitch videos can then be submitted to AfricaCom at this link (your video will need to be uploaded to Vimeo or YouTube) before 14th September when entries will be closed.

Videos will then be uploaded to AfricaCom’s YouTube channel where folks can vote for their favourite pitch. The best pitches will go on to pitch their idea at the event later this year.

AfricaCom 2018 takes place in Cape Town again this year from 13th – 15th November where as many as 14 000 tech and telecom experts are expected to attend.
