AlphaCode Accelerate picks four fintechs for R2.5 million scale-up

AlphaCode has long laid out its ambition to find the next Discovery or OUTsurance, which is why it’s looking to assist fintech businesses to help grow.

That goal took one further step towards fruition, with four fintechs selected for the AlphaCode Accelerate programme.

The first four businesses selected for the programme are Entersekt, Livestock Wealth, Click2Sure and Invoice Worx.

In order to offer support, AlphaCode has partnered with scale-up accelerator 10X-e to provide R2.5-million in funding for the programme, offering mentorship, expert guidance and support services for the fintechs.

“Entrepreneurs facing similar challenges will undergo this transformative journey. We will provide access to top-class mentors and industry experts, impactful content and workshops and the opportunity to engage meaningfully with the RMI team to prime the business for future potential investment opportunities,” says Dominique Collett, investments executive at RMI and head of AlphaCode.

The programme kicks off on 1st November, with fintechs involved in it for the following two years.

Should you not be in the fintech space, but are a budding entrepreneur, AlphaCode’s Incubate programme will still be accepting applications as of 7th September (tomorrow).

For that specific programme, 16 different entrepreneurs/businesses will be invited to pitch following the application process, with only eight spots up for grabs in a package worth R2 million each.

When it comes to the local startup space, it looks like AlphaCode wants to make some inroads.
