Alex Jones and InfoWars have been permanently banned from Twitter

Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones has tweeted his last tweet and gone live for the last time.

Following the banning of Jones from platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Spotify and iTunes, Twitter has become the latest platform to ban Jones after he contravened the platform’s policies.

“Today, we permanently suspended @realalexjones and @infowars from Twitter and Periscope. We took this action based on new reports of Tweets and videos posted yesterday that violate our abusive behavior policy, in addition to the accounts’ past violations,” Twitter announced via its official Twitter Safety account.

Those past violations resulted in Jones being banned from Twitter for a week. Despite calls for Twitter to ban Jones back when the rest of Silicon Valley was ditching him Twitter was adamant that he had not violated any of its policies.

The ban of Jones comes after Twitter chief executive officer Jack Dorsey and Facebook’s chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg answered questions posed by the US Senate Intelligence Committee about what the firms were doing to prevent meddling in elections.

The Twitter CEO also said that it wasn’t censoring conservative voices on Twitter adding that the firm did not use political ideology to make any decisions according to a report by the BBC.

Jones attended that question and answer session and proceeded to heckle senator Marco Rubio who seemingly had no idea who Jones was.
