A closer look at nukes in the newest Fallout 76 animation

In preparation for the launch of Fallout 76 on 14th November, publisher Bethesda has been releasing various animations focusing on different parts of the game with the latest touching on the subject of nuclear weapons.

When it was announced the player could nuke parts of the map in the game, many were worried that this would be the ultimate grieving tool. While those fears haven’t been completely put to rest, we do see in the video that launching a nuke is a bit more difficult than getting a 25 killstreak.

Firstly, each nuke requires a code that is fragmented into single characters. One code fragment in the animation is dropped by killing a random mob and forms part of a five-character complete code.

Aside from using these weapons to kill a collection of players or enemies, it is also shown that the resulting fallout will produce desirable resources only available in and around ground zero. Stronger enemies will spawn in this area, however, making this form of farming particularly dangerous.

We’re not sure how much of this is exactly accurate to how the final game will work, as there’s always bound to be changes at launch and some systems may have been simplified here for demonstration.

If you need more Fallout 76 animations in your life, there are other entries focusing on working with other players and the game’s perk system.

If any of that has convinced you to buy the game we don’t recommend pre-ordering, but you may want to put some money down if you want the lavish Power Armor Edition.
