Kandua partners with Leroy Merlin to increase work opportunities

Kandua (formerly known as ID Work) the platform that connects home owners and building firms with artisans has announced an interesting new partnership.

That partnership is with French homeware improvement retailer operating in South Africa, Leroy Merlin.

The partnership will give Leroy Merlin customers the option to hire a Kandua artisan to install their products after they’ve purchased them online or at a store.

For those that aren’t aware, Kandua gives artisans the chance to formalise their business by joining a platform where home owners, contractors and other folks interested in construction and maintenance can hire them.

The platform does background checks, vets all artisans and reviews give users the chance to see how well a person does a particular job.

Co-founder of Kandua, Lucas du Toit says the firm is excited about the partnership with Leroy Merlin and the opportunities it will give artisans to find work.

“We adopted a co-creation approach, inclusive of the contractors, to ensure that not only is the customer experience excellent, but that Leroy Merlin’s capacities support these deserving business contractors. Since having launched Kandua, we have driven over R40 million worth of revenue opportunity to hundreds of service providers across SA, and this partnership with Leroy Merlin will enable us to drive even further opportunities to even more tradesmen,” du Toit said of the partnership.

For its part, Leroy Merlin has said it will be hosting workshops where artisans will teach home owners and individuals how to do odd jobs around the house. The retailer will also provide artisans with supplier training so that they are up to date with the latest practices.

Leroy Merlin customers can visit this link to find an artisan trained to install their goods and if you’re just looking for some help with a renovation project why not check out Kandua and find an artisan who can assist you.
