Jason Momoa dons signature look in latest Aquaman footage

The DC Extended Universe is a shambles at the moment.

With Justice League failing to make a good impression, Henry Cavill seemingly stepping from Superman and two separate Joker solo flicks in the works, perhaps the only shining light in all this is December’s Aquaman movie.

We saw a trailer for Jason Momoa’s solo outing as Arthur Curry a few months ago, but Warner Bros. dropped a bunch of new footage in an extended video over the weekend.

Perhaps the biggest talking point of the entire five-minute long segment came at the end, as we see Curry don his signature orange and green getup as Aquaman.

As such, it’s a stark departure from the tattoo-sporting and whiskey swigging version we saw in Justice League, and likely serves to show that the Zack Snyder take on the character will be lost somewhere during the film.

While we’re pleased to see that director James Wan is leaning into the adventurous side of the Aquaman story, a reveal like this would have been nice to see in theatre.

With Warner. Bros and DC having revealed too much of previous projects (*clears throat* Doomsday in Dawn of Justice), perhaps it was only a matter of time before they did the same for Aquaman.

Hopefully that’s it though, and they save some good bits for the film’s 21st December release.

What we did enjoy is the rooftop chase scene halfway through, along with a better look at Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta.

That said, it seems like Curry is still acting like a frat boy, so we’re hoping Amber Heard’s Mera knocks a bit of sense into him.

With previous DCEU projects missing the mark completely, maybe Aquaman can land.
