Aliens invade the singleplayer of Override: Mech City Brawl

As huge mecha fans we’ve been keeping a close eye on Override: Mech City Brawl, an upcoming 3D fighting game with giant robots as the competitors.

Released yesterday, a new trailer for the game unveils what you can do with the title if you don’t have any friends around to play, and you don’t feel like venturing online to be stunlocked into oblivion.

The singleplayer of Override sees you fending off an alien invasion in your choice of giant mech.

We get to see a good few enemies shown off and it looks like they’re original mobs and not just reskinned mechs from the game’s other modes. The obvious comparison here is to Pacific Rim and since its official game (and sequel) was rather bad, we’re looking forward to this filling the void.

If this is your first time reading about Override, the other big selling pint here is the ability for multiple players to control a single mech Voltron-style. and we’re always happy to see splitscreen in new games.

While that all sounds fantastic, we weren’t too impressed when we got to play its beta. Hopefully the issues we experienced can be ironed out before the 4th December release. You’ll be able to play this title on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Pre-orders are up on the official site with a more expensive option available that unlocks a bunch of skins but, as always, we never recommend putting your money down before the initial reviews are in.
