Waze adds support for a host of music players

There’s a long-awaited feature coming to Waze, with the navigation app now adding support for a built-in music player, placing it on par with Google Maps.

The feature is currently in beta for both Android and iOS, according to a blog post on Medium.

More specifically Waze has added support for seven music players in particular. The different options are Pandora, Deezer, iHeartRadio, NPR One, Scribd, Stitcher, and TuneIn. Added to this is Spotify, along with Waze launching its own Audio Player today.

The support for these players across Android and iOS is summed up in the table below:

“Soon, all Wazers will be able to choose from podcasts, audiobooks, radio, and news thanks to our grand total of 8 audio partners — including our inaugural partner, Spotify,” explained the blog post.

With most of the popular player options joining the ranks of Waze, it should help make the navigation app a more tempting offering when compared to the likes of Google Maps.

There is no specific date on when the new feature will move out of beta, but Waze does note that it will be available to its larger network of users in coming weeks.
