Latest Windows 10 Insider Preview adds true light theme

Microsoft has always run into a few issues when it comes to their Windows 10 updates, and the latest October version is evidence of that.

Nevertheless the company is forging ahead, releasing a preview build of Windows 10 to fast ring members of its Insider program.

The build in question is designated 18282 (19H1), with the official Windows Blog creating a post running through some of the key new features of this potential update.

One of the more significant features is a bit more superficial with Microsoft adding a true light theme mode that changes the entire UI of the operating system to look a bit more like those lighter-styled Windows operating systems from a decade ago.

The reason why Microsoft has opted to add a true light theme is down to the fact that there was no substantial difference in look and feel between the light and dark themes that the OS featured previously.

As for the other aspects baked into this build, Microsoft has added the ability to adjust your no-reboot time based on your activity, which they are calling intelligent active hours.

Added to this the pause updates button has now been placed in an easier to find location in the settings. Other improvements that Microsoft says it has made include better text narration, smarter screen selection and clearer print dialog, if those kinds of things are important to you.

For now there’s no mention of when this build of Windows 10 will make its way to PCs and notebooks in an official capacity, but it will more than likely be sometime early next year, as we wait for Insider members to identify any kinks in this latest offering from Microsoft.
