First cohort selected for Qatar SportsTech Accelerator Program

Late last year the Qatar SportsTech Accelerator Bootcamp opened up applications to all SportsTech startups for their program, which took place during 3rd October to 15th December of 2018.

The selection process saw 21 startups selected from the 400-plus applications that were received, and now the first 10 of that group has been chosen to begin their journey in the program.

They will begin their three-month accelerator program from 10th February, which will happen in Qatar, Doha.

According to Qatar SportsTech, they also have 40 mentors from sporting and innovation organisations in Doha, as well as international programs, such as Le Tremplin, Wylab and Startupbootcamp to assist startups.

The first 10 startups are:

Olympia – They are working towards revolutionising the way individual practitioners engaging with each other and their sports. They are introducing a universal rating system for all player focusing on “Play” rather than fitness

Horse Analytics – This group empowers horse enthusiasts to improve the health, fitness and well-being of their animals. They do so via an app that utilises the movement sensors of smartphones to analyse and improve their training horses.

Vensy – Vensy has developed an artificial intelligence platform that helps brands build connection with highly engaged fans. Their app helps marketers to search over 400 sports influencers to represent their brands.

Performance by P.U.R.E – P.U.R.E has developed a unique method and a facilitating platform that brings together knowledge, skills, and experience of seasoned professional football players.

Moduu – They have developed  sportswear that combines vital body data tracking and active muscle stimulation to increase the effectiveness of rehab and fitness.

TieSports – Has developed a complete set of software tools for racket sports management and engagement.

MinglVision – The group has developed an app that allows viewers to have direct control over the camera angles used during a match, letting the viewer’s experience the game how they see fit.

SAK – They developed tailor-made shin guards fabricated from 3D scans of the players legs and military grade materials.

FindaPlayer – This is a network which helps the users to organise, find and play sports in their local area.

Creative Bot – They have developed a platform for building, managing ad distributing sports chatbot on messaging apps.
