The LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack is really cheap right now

LEGO Dimensions, the brick company’s attempt at a toys-to-life game that was cancelled last year, can be yours for a fraction of its usual price.

This is thanks to a weird co-incidence where both online local retailers Raru and Loot have them discounted way down for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Both sites have the usual price of the game listed at around a thousand rand – R999 on Raru and R1000 on Loot.

The prices right now are much lower:

Loot

As a reminder of what’s in this starter packs: you get the base LEGO Dimensions game, a buildable portal which interacts with the toys, and three characters (Gandalf, Batman and Wyldstyle).

This is everything you need to play the game to completion, but as is the standard with this type of game the more physical toys you buy the more characters, levels and vehicles you will have access to.

If you need a refresher in how this system works, check out our review of the game when it launched in South Africa.

We’re not entirely sure why Raru and Loot decided to discount the base game so heavily so close to each other, but we can only suspect that they’re looking to move stock now that the game is no longer in development and will no longer receive updates.

We highly suggest that anyone interested by the game now as, at this price, it’s worth it for the LEGO pieces alone. We’re sure these will sell out soon.
