The Lenovo ThinkPad X390 Yoga is the latest convertible added to the range

For the longest time, the ThinkPad notebooks have been primarily viewed as enterprise-focused workhorses, and for the most part that reputation has been retained ever since Lenovo acquired the brand.

That said, Lenovo has been adding some flourishes to the ThinkPad lineup, and earlier this week revealed their latest offering – the ThinkPad X390 Yoga.

Lending part of its name from the Yoga convertible notebook range, this device is a 2-in-1 that can operate in a conventional notebook and slightly more tactile tablet form. You could also use it in a display or tent mode, but Lenovo does not view those options as leveraging the specifications that the ThinkPad X390 Yoga is sporting.

To that end it has a 13.3″ FullHD display, which yields 300nits of brightness and features a screen that can rotate 180 degrees. Internally Lenovo will be offering 8th Gen Intel i5 and i7 processors depending on the model, with an Intel UHD 620 GPU added to the mix.

It can also be configured with up to 16GB DDR4 RAM, and up to a 1TB PCIe SSD. There’s a sizeable battery on offer too, with Lenovo boasting up to 14.5 hours of battery life from a single full charge.

The ThinkPad X390 Yoga, like much of Lenovo’s new hardware showcased at MWC 19 this week, there’s no precise local information about when the notebook will land and how much it will cost.

For now, it’s slated for arrival in European countries in May and recommended pricing starts at €1 149 (~R18 113).
