Rise of the Shadows is the next Hearthstone expansion

After sharing a number if cryptic videos all week, Blizzard has finally told us what we can expect from the first expansion for Hearthstone’s Year of the Dragon.

That expansion is dubbed Rise of the Shadows and it features a few familiar faces.

So, Madame Lazul, King Togwaggle, Hagatha, Dr Boom and Rafaam have partnered up to hatch what can only be a dastardly plot to target Dalaran. They even have a name for themselves, the League of E.V.I.L. We’re not sure what the acronym stands for.

As with past expansions, Rise of the Shadows introduces new keywords.

The first of these new keywords is Twinspell. When you cast a spell with this keyword you will get a copy put back into your hand only this time without the Twinspell keyword.

There are also cards called Schemes which seem to function in a similar manner to spellstones though we can’t confirm this right now. Schemes are said to get stronger the longer they stay in your hand.

Rise of Shadows will also bring with it Lackeys. These are said to be 1/1 minions with powerful Battlecry effects.

As always you can pre-purchase card packs ahead of the “on or before April 30th 2019” release date.

The Standard Bundle contains 50 packs and one random Legendary from the Rise of Shadows expansion. This pre-order costs €49.99

There is also a Rise of Shadows Mega Bundle on offer which contains 80 packs, a random Golden Legendary from Rise of the Shadows and the new Madam Lazul Priest Hero. The Mega Bundle pack retails for €79.99.

Something interesting to note is that this year Blizzard will tell three stories using Hearthstone expansion and all three will be connected.
