Marvel to auction off props from its dead Netflix shows

With the Marvel Netflix shows now a thing of the past, you can own a part of them if you have enough money to win a bidding war.

This is because props from Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist are going up for auction come August of this year.

This was announced by Marvel on Instagram with an accompanying photo you can see above featuring Luke Cage’s hoodie, Daredevil’s full costume and Iron Fists mask and gi.

The items are to be auctioned through Prop Store who has created a dedicated subsite for the event. There you can leave your email address to get updates about the auction. We suspect that, apart from being reminded of when the auction is happening, you may also receive updates about items that will be up for grabs.

We’ve put our details down and will update you if we learn anything more.

Right now, aside from that picture, there’s only the promise of “props, costumes, and more” from the production of those three shows.

While we’re sure wealthy collectors are happy about this news, it’s a bit saddening to see parts of these shows being sold off after their unceremonious cancellations.

We’re also not sure exactly why Marvel is doing this (assuming it was their idea in the first place). It’s not like they’re struggling for cash or anything like that, and they’re not even doing it for charity as they have done many times in the past with Omaze.

In fact, right now, Omaze is running a campaign where you can put in money to accompany the Hulk himself Mark Ruffalo at the Avengers: Endgame premiere.

Our baseless assumption here is that Marvel is like someone who just went through a breakup and wants to get rid of everything their ex left in the apartment.
