The AWS Johannesburg Pop-Up Loft is designed to boost your business

Earlier this month Amazon Web Services (AWS) debuted their latest local initiative in the form of the Johannesburg Pop-Up Loft in Sandton.

It’s a collaborative co-working space that AWS has opened up in other cities across the globe, but this one in Egoli is the first of its kind for the African continent.

As such it reaffirms the commitment that AWS has made for the region, having also recently confirmed that a local data centre will be opening up in Cape Town during the first half of 2020.

So what’s the Johannesburg Pop-Up Loft all about?

Well it’s available to access from now until 29th March, with opening hours between 10:00 and 18:00 on weekdays.

As for the intention behind this co-working space, AWS says it’s designed as a way for local businesses and entrepreneurs to engage more meaningfully with some of the company’s experts on a range of ideas.

These include the ability to pick their brains on some the issues they might be encountering in their own environment, and seeing what kinds of solutions AWS has in order to assist.

Throughout the month, participants at the Loft will also be able to hear the stories of others in the industry, ranging from smaller startups such as Pineapple and Custos Media Technologies to larger enterprises like Vodacom and Discovery.

Shifting back to the aforementioned time with experts, there’s the chance to book 30 minute sessions with an AWS Solutions Architect, who could potentially provide insight and guidance into whatever projects you may be working on.

Added to this will training opportunities with labs available to get hands-on with AWS products, as well as examination preparation workshops for the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate qualification.

Filled with valuable resources from a company not only recognised on a global scale, but with a growing presence locally, the Johannesburg Pop-Up Loft is well worth checking out.
