We finally have more to see around Wolfenstein: Youngblood thanks to a story trailer, and its music comes courtesy of an artist you may unconscionably know.
Carpenter Brut provided many songs to the iconic soundtracks of both Hotline Miami games, with his most recognisable probably being Roller Mobster which some have confused for the original; game’s main theme.
For this new trailer the song is very appropriately called Turbo Killer which you can give a watch too after this because it has its own interesting music video.
Okay, music selection aside this new content for Wolfenstein: Youngblood is a story trailer so we get to see a bit of the setup for the new game where B.J. Blazkowicz goes missing and his daughters go on a Nazi killing spree to find him.
The two are outfitted with the Da’at Yichud Power Suits which have been seen throughout the newer games.
While the focus is on story here there’s plenty of gameplay to be seen with all the FPS goodness we’ve come to expect from this franchise. Strangely, we didn’t see much interplay or co-op between the two main leads, which is what we have been expecting.
With Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus being generally well received by fans and critics, it was seen as a letdown compared to 2014’s The New Order. Here’s to hoping that this new title can recapture some of the previous game’s magic together with the retro FPS goodness that we’ve seen in titles like 2016 Doom.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood will be available come 26th July this year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC with the last being a particular sticking point with all the Epic Store exclusivity nonsense happening.
Thankfully publisher Bethesda has put those fears to bed announcing that, not only will this game and future releases be available from their own store and launcher, but also good old Steam.
