Enter the Gungeon patched to fix ‘A Farewell to Arms’ DLC

Last Friday the superb roguelike Enter the Gungeon got its final piece of DLC before the developers Dodge Roll move on from the game, but it has unfortunately come with a host of bugs, crashes and other issues.

Thankfully Dodge Roll is an amazing studio and has been pumping out fixes for these problems which have now been rolled into a patch.

As explained on Reddit these changes fix many critical problems which deal with everything from loss of progress to items working incorrectly and many other things besides.

While fixing broken and unintentional code is usually a good thing, some happy little accidents occurred as a result of this new content which has, sadly, been corrected.

The biggest example was probably an alternate skin for the weapon Blasphemy. As a bullet hell game so focused on shooting, melee weapons are appropriately balanced but this alternate skin gave a broken hitbox allowing it to damage enemies much further away.

While the community (us included) were hoping this would be left in – especially as it’s so difficult to unlock – this has not been the case.

These changes actually encompass three different patches, those being 2.1.3, 2.1.4 and 2.1.5  with each subsequent one rolling the previous patches in.

2.1.5 is already live on Steam and GOG versions of the game with consoles (PS4, Xbox One and Switch) getting 2.1.4 as soon as they go through certification. 2.1.5 will presumably follow after it goes through the same process.

The full patch notes can be read here.
