Sasol corporate bursary programme applications opened

Sasol has announced that its corporate bursary programme is now open for applications for the 2020 academic year, with the aim of helping high performing Mathematics and Science learners who are currently in Grade 12 to study at an approved public university or university of technology.  

According to Sasol applicants need to obtain 70 percent for Mathematics, 70 percent for Physical Science and 60 percent for English to be considered for the bursary. This is an all-inclusive bursary that will cover tuition fees, accommodation, meals, textbooks and pocket-money, as well as allowances for notebooks and calculators.

“At Sasol we help our bursars harness their potential, by offering them not only financing for their tertiary education but also the opportunity to start and succeed in their careers,” said manager of the graduate centre at Sasol, Monica Luwes.

Sasol added that it was looking for learners who want to study towards a B Eng or BSc Eng in various engineering disciplines, BSc in Chemistry and Accounting (CA route) or learners interested in studying Instrumental, Mining Survey and Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

“This is our investment in building a high performing workforce and in fostering sustainable socio-economic development to benefit the country as a whole,” added Luwes.

Students who are awarded bursaries are also afforded the opportunity to do paid vacation work and be part of the Graduate Development Programme when they complete their studies.
