New Death Stranding trailer confirms November release, but game still a mystery

Yesterday the PlayStation Twitch channel hosted a live stream event where footage from the mysterious new Hideo Kojima game, Death Stranding, was shown… or at least partly shown. The live stream was blacked out for the most part with handprint-shaped parts of the screen visible depending on the number of people watching the stream.

Had that been it for the event, it would have proved quite frustrating, but luckily a nearly nine-minute long release date trailer for Death Stranding surfaced on the PlayStation YouTube channel as well.

We now know the game, which is a PS4-exclusive, is slated to land on the platform come 8th November, which for those who own a PlayStation 4 pretty much sorts out all their gaming plans come the penultimate month of the year.

As for the trailer itself, pasted below for your viewing pleasure, it’s still quite hard to decipher, as are all of the trailers for Death Stranding we’ve seen to date.

All we really know is that Norman Reedus’ character is crucial to the plot, as is his task of ferrying precious cargo between different cities. Needless to say this trailer has given us more questions than answers, as the previous did, but has not dampened our desire to play this game.

Needless to say Death Stranding will either be an instant classic or an overambitious flop. If it’s the former, it would mean that the PS4 has had back-to-back years with a superb exclusive. Last year was of course God of War, so the bar for this Kojima original is high.

Hit play on the trailer after the break and enjoy, oh and try your best to decipher it.
