Huawei’s P30 Series break sales record 85 days after launch

Late last month Huawei was greeted with disconcerting news as Google decided to restrict access to their operating system to the Chinese company.

While the fate of the firm’s hardware was up in the air, we now know that existing Huawei smartphones will continue to get regular Android updates. One such phone is the flagship P30 Series, with Huawei having additional news about its performance since launching earlier this year.

To that end the firm’s president of handset product, Kevin Ho, announced that sale volume of the Huawei P30 series hit 10 million in 85 days after its launch.

The announcement was made at the MWC 19 Shanghai, where he stated that the time it took to reach 10 million units sales, is 62 days less than that for last year’s P20 series.

“It is a record-breaking three months for the Huawei flagship devices,” added Ho.

The company explains that it invested more than CNY 480 billion over the past decade, which helped establish its powerful technological strength and partnership in both the software and hardware supply chains. In turn this has enabled the company to reach its latest landmark in the smartphone industry.

“Huawei believes that continuous innovation and technological leadership will continue to expand the boundaries of smartphones, creating an all-scenario smart life experience for consumers. This is the cornerstone of confidence from a large Huawei user community,” concluded Ho.

As for how many of the devices have been sold locally, Huawei has not divulged any specifics just yet. Given the fact that South Africa is a first wave country for Huawei, it should be interesting to see how well it performed in terms of sales here.
