Blue Prism launches local Robotics Process Automation community for SMEs

Purveyors of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) software, Blue Prism have announced the launch of a local RPA community.

The Blue Prism Digital Exchange RPA community will allow local businesses, particularly those in the SME category, to explore the scope of RPA in their sector.

“It’s basically an ecosystem of best-of-breed technologies to make it easier for organisations to deploy and scale their intelligent automation solutions. The goal is simple: make the consumption of AI-powered solutions fast and easy—and bring emerging tech to life,” senior technology solutions consultant at Blue Prism, John Bailey said of the launch.

RPA is reportedly already being used at an enterprise level according to Blue Prism but the goal is to get more SMEs making use of the technology to see what is possible.

The community will give enterprises a way to tap into the forward thinking minds of entrepreneurs to help solve the complexities of becoming digital.

As for the entrepreneurs and SMEs, senior vice president and general manager for the EMEA region, Brian Mort says that the firm has solutions specifically for those businesses.

“Through our acquisition of Thoughtonomy this month, we can deliver cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)based intelligent automation to Africa. This gives even SMEs access to scalable, cost-effective digital workforces,” Mort said.

However, Bailey says that humans shouldn’t think that digital workforces will be replacing them, rather amplifying their capabilities.

“Humans will stay vital, but digital workers and humans will work hand-in-hand, seamlessly moving work between machine and human for better outcomes.” he concluded.
