Rumour mill cranks it up to 11 ahead of Samsung Galaxy Note 10 release

Next month Samsung is expected to show off its latest flagship the Galaxy Note 10.

With just two weeks to go, rumours have ramped up significantly and German website WinFuture claims to have all the juicy details.

Before we dive into what the site claims to have we must preface that with a warning that these are rumours have no bearing on what the handset will look like or how it will perform at launch.

One of the more plausible rumours out at the moment is that Samsung will be introducing a larger Galaxy Note 10+.

The German publication notes that the larger handset will have a similar form factor to last year’s Galaxy Note 9 albeit with a larger 6.8 inch display. The display will support HDR10+ and an Infinity-O (the rumoured name for Samsung’s in-display front facing camera) sits in the centre of the display.

As with the Galaxy S10 series, the Galaxy Note 10 is rumoured to have been fitted with a ultrasound fingerprint scanner which sits beneath the display.

But one German website is not enough to satisfy our craving for rumours so we now turn to serial leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer also known as @OnLeaks on Twitter. Hemmerstoffer has a reputation for leaking accurate details about tech ahead of launch but we’d still take these specs with a grain of salt.

According to their sources, Hemmerstoffer claims the Note 10 will house a 3 600mAh battery while the larger Note 10 + will house a massive 4 300mAh battery.

Naturally both handsets will house the S-Pen which has reportedly been upgraded to offer air-gestures known as “Air Actions”. Users will reportedly be able to take the stylus out of the phone and perform actions while hover above the display. It sounds like a bit of a fringe feature if we’re being honest.

In terms of raw specs not much seems to differ between the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+, at least for now.

Rumours suggest that the handsets boast identical camera arrays with the Note 10+ only offering a DepthVision time-of-flight sensor as an extra.

Pricing and availability is still unknown at this stage as the launch is only set to take place on 7th August. That having been said, South Africa is a popular market for Samsung and we’re more than likely going to see the handset made available locally soon after or in tandem with the international release.

While we’re very much excited to test out a new Galaxy Note, we do wonder if Samsung will be reintroducing the Galaxy Fold at the event.

The rumour suggests we will be seeing that handset again on the 7th August but we’ll have to wait and see.

Hypertext will be attending the local launch event of the Galaxy Note 10 series and we’ll be sure to bring you all the details as they are revealed on the day.

Oh and before we go, Hemmerstoffer and PriceBaba managed to get their hands on some renders of the handset and we have to say, it’s looking mighty good.
