Samsung unveils upgraded Galaxy A50s and A30s

Samsung recently unveiled its Galaxy A-series of smartphones and already the firm has unveiled upgrades to two models.

Those models are the Galaxy A50s and A30s which are upgraded versions of the Galaxy A50 and A30 respectively.

Taking a look at the Galaxy A50s not much has changed internally. The Exynos 9610 is still keeping things ticking at 2.3GHz, the display is the same 1080 x 2340 affair and it’s still 6.4inches diagonally.

Where things are switched up, however, is that the A50s now comes with a standard 6GB of RAM rather than the option of 4GB being present as well.

The snappers have also been improved substantially. At the rear you’ll now find a 48MP F2.0 sensor, a 8MP F2.2 13mm ultrawide sensor and a 5MP sensor wraps things up.

This means that you can now record 4K video at 30fps up from the roof of 1080p in the A50.

As for the Galaxy A30s it mirrors much of its predecessor as well with the camera receiving a notable upgrade. The Galaxy A30s now has a 25MP F1.7 main sensor that is combined with an 8MP ultrawide sensor and a 5MP sensor rounds things off. Samsung says this 5MP sensor is a depth camera that allows users to take photos with a “professional quality” bokeh effect.

There is also now an on-screen fingerprint scanner included in much of Samsung’s high-end smartphones.

There is unfortunately no word on whether the Galaxy A50s or A30s will be made available in South Africa but we have contacted Samsung South Africa to find out. As soon as we have more information will be sure to share that with you.
