Metal Wolf Chaos XD – a 2004 Japan exclusive that was re-released this year – now has yet another version to compliment its previous digital only availability.

Special Reserve Games has recently created a physical version of the game for PlayStation 4 which comes with a lot of other extras to compliment the disc.

You may remember Special Reserve Games as the people who take indie games and give them physical releases and / or really nice collector’s editions. Our favourite example of their work is for Enter the Gungeon where they replicated a book from the indie title.

For Metal Wolf Chaos XD the PS4 disc is region free so you can play it no matter where you buy from. The box has reversible jacket artwork and, as a limited edition product, each of these bundles is numbered.

If you miss the days of large instruction booklets you’re in for a treat here as the one on offer here is 40 pages long. This is packed into the game box along with a sticker.

Finally there’s a “propaganda envelope” filled with more stickers and a rubber patch.

This bundle is on sale right now for $29.99 from Special Reserve Games and will be shipped out in September.

Only 3 000 units will be available and, at the time of writing, it is still available for sale.

It’s worth noting that GameStop in the US is also selling a physical release of the game – also only on PlayStation 4 for the exact same price. The different here is that GameStop’s version is just the game itself, with none of the added goodies mentioned above.

If you arrive late to the party and find the bundles sold out, this may be your only option if you really want a physical copy for the shelf.
