Primal – the new animation by Genndy Tartakovsky – to air from 7th October

We’ve been drip fed information about Primal over the past few months ever since it was announced back in May of this year, and now we know it will be available to watch rather soon.

A new trailer, embedded below, gives us the release date of 7th October of this year. The show will air on Adult Swim which now also slights Samurai Jack after helping to bring its final season into fruition.

Primal is the work of Genndy Tartakovsky, best known for the aforementioned Samurai Jack, and you can see that this new show shares some stylistic elements with previous work.

But this isn’t a one man show, and Primal is being animated by French studio La Cachette. They worked on episode five of Love, Death & Robots (Sucker of Souls) as well as these other projects if you want to get a feel of what they’re capable of.

As for this trailer we see more of what we know of the series: a man and his dinosaur just being, well, extremely violent. If you’re not up to seeing that this early in the day come back to this later.

Aside from the release date it looks as if five episodes of the show will air back to back starting on 8th October at midnight with a new episode each day. At least that’s how we interpret the stinger at the end of the trailer.

Finally, the quote at the beginning of the trailer is the poem Darkness by George Gordon Byron which can be read in full here.
