Twitch and Subway partner up to offer you discounted subscriptions this September

Don’t tell the boss but if you were to check our browser history during office hours, you’d notice a lot of activity on Twitch.

We’re big fans of the creators that call the streaming platform home and next month it will be a bit easier to support your favourite channels.

SUBtember is a Twitch event that has been taking place since 2017. The event usually features discounts on subscriptions and this year is no different thanks to a partnership with sandwich purveyors Subway.

With this newly cemented partnership, Twitch will be offering viewers a 50 percent discount on new Tier 1 subscriptions (which are usually $4.99) from 3rd September through to 24th September.

There are some caveats to this, however.

The offer is for new Tier 1 subscriptions made on the web or desktop app, subscriptions from the mobile app do not get the discount. Gifted subscriptions are also excluded from the discount.

Should an existing subscription end during the event you will also get the discount from what Twitch says in a blog post.

For its part, Subway will be adding 10 percent more Bits when users Cheer 10 or more in an affiliate or partner channel. The sandwich makers will also be gifting subscriptions across various channels throughout the month and, it will launching its own Twitch channel, for some reason.

While subscribers are enjoying discounts, streamers will still be getting the full value of the subscription as they have in previous years.
