Apple places a trio of lenses on the back of the iPhone 11 Pro & Pro Max

Apple has a pair of new flagship phones – the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max. Both devices were the last to be revealed by Apple during its iPhone 11 event earlier this evening, with the firm noting that they are the most advanced smartphones the company has made to date.

If that sounds familiar the firm stated something similar for the iPhone Xs and Xs Max last year, so that phrase for these new offering should be taken with a grain of salt.

Nevertheless Apple has not held back on the specifications side of things for its latest mobile devices.

To that end the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max sport the same A13 Bionic chipset as the new iPhone 11, which results in significant improvements on the performance and battery life side of things.

The other big change one notices about the two devices is the primary camera array, which ups the number of lenses compared to the regular iPhone 11. The trio of lenses found on the rear are all 12MP, with a wide-angle, ultra-wide and telephoto option onboard.

As for the displays, they both feature a quality that Apple has christened as Super Retina XDR, with the 11 Pro measuring 5.8″ and the larger Max option 6.5″.

Apple also opted for a stainless steel, MacBook-esque matte finish for the bodies of these new smartphones, along with adding a green colour option to the usual silver, grey and gold flavours.

Like much of the hardware showcased by Apple tonight, the 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max do not have a local price or availability at the time of writing. It is however, being sold in 64GB, 256GB or 512GB storage options, with the smaller 11 Pro staring at $999 Stateside and the larger Max costing $1099.

While we’re reserving judgement for the 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max until we get them in-hand, it looks like the small iterative changes that Apple has been featuring of late for new iPhones has continued.
