Following this week’s leaks, Facebook livestreams its Q&A session to the world

Earlier this week Facebook had audio from one of its Q&A sessions with chief executive officer, Mark Zuckerberg leaked.

A lot of what was said was surprising, particularly comments about fighting Senator Elizabeth Warren in the courts should she try and break up the likes of Google, Facebook and Amazon.

Following that leak, Facebook made the decision to livestream this week’s Q&A session to the world early this morning.

“I want to try something a little bit different this week. We do these Q&As every week, it’s important to how this place runs. It’s important to us not just to share openly what I’m thinking about but I get the chance to hear what is on everyone’s mind,” said Zuckerberg at the top of the stream.

The CEO then expressed his disappointment and shock at the fact that the Q&A session was leaked. Zuckerberg believes the person who leaked the recording was an intern as that particular session was for interns.

What is clear from this stream however is that Zuckerberg is unapologetic about what is said during these sessions, as he should be.

As we mentioned this week, there is nothing egregious in the leaked recording. Is Zuckerberg a bit harsh in his language? Perhaps, but he is ultimately the CEO of a massive firm so some brash language is to be expected.

Hell, we’d go so far as to say that the Q&A session that was broadcast to the world today made Zuckerberg more, relatable. He even joked about being compared to a robot.

The CEO spoke about billionaires and how nobody should have that much money, he even spoke about Senator Warren again.

One of the more interesting questions was around what would signal Facebook’s decline. The “death of Facebook” has been flaunted many times but as of yet, the social network has yet to disappear.

Zuckerberg believes that constant innovation is the key to Facebook’s success and failing to innovate and adapt to the market would have killed the site long ago.

We highly recommend giving the stream a watch below though with it being over an hour long you might want to save it for your lunch break.
