Halo: Reach is the first of the MCC to arrive on PC in December

It’s been some time now since it was announced that Halo would be coming to PC thanks to a port of the Master Chief Collection (MCC). Wer now have details on the first game of the bundle to land on PC, which will be Halo: Reach on 3rd December this year.

This news comes, as always, from the Halo Waypoint site which is the official site for 343 Industries to share details about its games.

It provides a lot more details outside of the release date including the reiteration of PC performance at 60 FPS and 4K resolution support. That is, if you have the rig to run it like that.

The announcement also outlines three different ways to play Reach and the rest of the Halo games. As this is a property so connected to Microsoft and Xbox, it’s probably no surprise that Reach will launch as part of the Xbox Game Pass beta on PC.

Putting aside problems with game subscriptions, Game Pass on PC has been a great experience so far, especially considering how cheap it is. In fact its price has once again been slashed with a recent steep discount on three month memberships for new users.

For those who prefer to outright buy the MCC, you can do so on the Microsoft Store and on Steam.

Regardless of how you buy the game, after Reach comes out in December the rest of the games in the MCC will be released throughout 2020.

As a reminder, those games are:

  • Halo: CE Anniversary
  • Halo 2 Anniversary
  • Halo 3
  • Halo 3: ODST Campaign
  • Halo 4
