We finally get to see more of street sign platformer The Pedestrian

Back in January of 2017 The Pedestrian arrived on Kickstarter offering a new take on the familiar platformed. Instead of jumping and puzzling around some abstract world, it would instead take place within the 2D world of various street signs dotted around a city.

As it’s been some time since then developer Skookum Arts has finally shared a new teaser trailer for the game (embedded below) to show of this idea works in motion, for those who haven’t seen it.

This trailer isn’t out of nowhere, however, as we’re getting close to the release of the game. As stated by the dev in a Steam blog update, The Pedestrian is “nearing completion” after missing a soft launch date of 20th October.

That post also announces that the game will, unfortunately, not be out this year, but will instead see the light of day come the middle of January 2020.

This is a game we’ve been following on Twitter for years now, seeing glimpses of it in short gifs and images, so waiting a few more months shouldn’t be too difficult. These recently shared train and subway portions are looking great too.

If you want to see more of The Pedestrian, make sure to look around its Steam page and add it to your wishlist so you can get an alert when it’s available.

There’s no local Steam price listed as yet, but if you backed the game on Kickstarter there’s apparently a secret in the game for you. As so much of this title is based on signs, we wouldn’t be surprised to see backer names incorporated into the game in some way, such as backer names being used for those of the streets. That’s just conjecture though, so it’s back to waiting for now.
