Lenovo ThinkCentre M90n-1 Nano is world’s smallest desktop & aimed at SA SMEs

Lenovo is a popular brand here in South Africa, not only among consumers but businesses too. The ThinkPad notebook range in particular is a favourite, but what about those who are in need of a desktop PC?

Well Lenovo has the new ThinkCentre M90n-1 Nano on the way, with the latest desktop modular offering being christened the world’s smallest device of its kind, according to the Chinese firm.

The new device is headed to South Africa’s shores, and Lenovo say it is designed with local SMEs in mind.

“The ThinkCentre M90n-1 Nano is further proof of Lenovo’s commitment to helping small businesses drive efficiency in their operations,” enthuses Thibault Dousson, GM at Lenovo South Africa.

“In South Africa, SMEs make up a third of the country’s GDP and play an integral part in boosting the economy and creating jobs. Lack of capital, investment, resources or support are among the major challenges faced by our country’s entrepreneurs. Lenovo wants to help entrepreneurs grow their businesses through giving them better access to critical tools and services, such as our financial services offering and leasing option,” he adds.

The ThinkCentre M90n-1 Nano is purpose-built to deliver this, according to Dousson, with it designed to support diverse workplaces, as well as deliver with the power of a full-size desktop and the space-saving convenience of a notebook, the GM continues.

In terms of those efficiencies, the compact Nano is said to be one-third the size of the ThinkCentre Tiny model from Lenovo, along with offering significantly reduced energy consumption. In Lenovo’s testing it can reduce annual energy consumption by as much as 30 percent.

Packaged alongside the aforementioned efficiencies, the Nano features 8th Gen Intel Core chipsets and SSDs to take care of storage depending on the configuration that SMEs opt for. There’s also a bevy of ports on offer and an HW TPM 2.0 chip onboard to help encrypt sensitive data when needed.

If your SME is on the lookout for a clutter-free and compact desktop PC, the ThinkCentre M90n-1 Nano looks a solid option. While the device is slated for South Africa, there is no official launch date or recommended pricing at this stage, but we’ll keep our readers posted on that front.
