Fujifilm South Africa slaps price tag and availability on new X-T200

Earlier this week Fujifilm revealed a new addition to its mirrorless X-Series camera lineup with the X-T200. Designed as a follow up to the 2018 X-T100, at the time no local information was available for the new camera.

That changes today, with Fujifilm South Africa confirming which colour options of the X-T200 will be landing locally, as well as how much it will cost and when to expect it at retailers.

Let’s start with price, and here the body only option for the X-T200 will cost a recommended R11 300. If you’re wanting the additional lens kit too, which features a XC15-45mm F3.5-5.6 OIS PZ Lens, then the price rises to R12 999.

In terms of availability, Fujifilm says the X-T200 will land in South Africa at the beginning of March this year, but could not provide a more definitive date at this stage.

Those who have seen the X-T200 already, and have their eyes set on the champagne gold option (pictured above) will be pleased to hear that it is slated for arrival in SA, along with the two other colour options – silver and dark silver (grey).

Some of the other highlights for this new mirrorless camera include a high-speed APS-C 24.2MP CMOS sensor, along with phase detection autofocus pixels across the sensor for drastically improved autofocus. Added to this is a lightweight design as the X-T200 weighs only 370g (body). There’s also a new tilting LCD screen added to the rear, as well as the camera touting the ability to shoot 4K UHD video or capture 24.2MP stills at 8fps.

As a handy everyday shooter than can stand in when your larger DSLR or premium mirrorless camera isn’t on-hand, the X-T200 looks promising.
