Well that didn’t take long. Earlier this week we saw a handful of images for the forthcoming Galaxy S20 leak online, and true to form more pictures have landed online alongside additional information for the Galaxy S20+.
The leak this time around again comes via XDA Developers, which obtained an exclusive look at the new Samsung flagship device.
One of the more interesting features from the leak is the omission of a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is a move that the likes of Apple and Huawei have favoured, so Samsung is in the same boat too, having made a similar move for the Galaxy Note 10.
As such we can likely expect a new pair of wireless headphones to accompany the release of the Galaxy S20+, although that remains unconfirmed for now.
Other features see the Galaxy S20+ tout a 120Hz display, with a 3200×1440 resolution. There is a catch though, with the 120Hz option only working at a Full HD+ resolution. If you’re wanting the higher resolution option, it will only work at 60Hz.
The phone will also retain an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, as well as shifting the front facing punch hole camera to the centre of the screen like the Note 10 does. The former aspect yielded a rather mixed performance for some users, especially when a screen protector was employed, resulting in slow reading times.
XDA Developers’ sources say the S20+ will house a massive 4 500mAh battery, run up to 12GB of RAM and support the recording of up to 8K video.
Along with the S20+, Samsung is expected to launch a standard and Ultra model of the new device, with all three expected to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 processor depending in what region you’re in.
With a lot of the key information shared about the Galaxy S20+ well before its official launch, we’re left wondering if anyone will tune into the live streamed reveal of the device?
The only elements missing at this stage is pricing and availability, which we will be covering for our local readers.
Either way it looks as if the new foldable phone that Samsung is working will be the more newsworthy story next month, when the South Korean firm is expected to make its global unveilings.
