Binance named premier sponsor for next month’s Blockchain Africa Conference

Next month Bitcoin Events will be hosting its annual Blockchain Africa Conference 2020 in Johannesburg. More specifically the event will be held on 11th and 12th March, and now organisers have confirmed that Binance will be the premier sponsor for the crypto-focused conference.

For those unfamiliar with Binance it is the world’s largest crypto exchange in terms of trading volume, so their addition to proceedings certainly serves as a vote of confidence for the organisers.

Binnace’s choice to sponsor the Blockchain Africa Conference is for good reason too, as the platform is set to detail its expansion efforts into South Africa, as well as its projects and initiatives with the Binance Charity Foundation.

Binance is proud to be open for business in South Africa, which is one of the most exciting markets for crypto,” explains Binance founder and CEO, Changpeng Zhao.

The platform is increasing its influence on the African continent in recent years, with its first expansion happening in Uganda in 2018. This has been followed by efforts in Nigeria to make purchases possible with debit and credit card thanks to partnerships in the region.

Binance is dedicated to increasing the freedom of money and the advancement of blockchain technology. The African continent is a major part of this mission – where millions are unbanked but remain innovative in their use of technology,” adds Zhao.

The Blockchain Africa conference is leading conversations around cryptocurrency and blockchain technology in Africa and Binance is keen to communicate with key industry stakeholders and thought leaders in Africa to jointly promote technology evolution in this new era across the continent,” he concludes.

Tickets for the event are still up for sale, and those wanting to register can head here.
