Photo mode & ultra wide support demoed for Death Stranding

When Death Stranding was announced for PC, two of the standout features for the port were photo mode and support for ultra wide monitors.

Now developer Kojima Productions has kindly provided the world with short videos of each so we can get a taste of the game on PC ahead of its 2nd June release.

Let’s start with photo mode as that’s arguably the addition which has caused the most discussion, partly because it’s not available on the original PlayStation 4 version of the game at the moment.

As shown in the video below this isn’t just a “pause the game and snap a picture” tacked on affair, but extra mechanics are included to mess around with your snaps as you see fit.

We particularly like the inclusion of frames to create your own Death Stranding Polaroids.

Ultra wide monitor support is next and it’s ensured that, aside from being able to drink in more of the game’s scenery, there will be added steps in place for complete compatability with these types of screens.

There’s less to talk about here but support for this hardware is another sign to us that effort is being put into this port.

Regardless, we don’t advice pre-ordering. Outside of the usual warning that the port may not live up to expectations, Death Stranding is a very different game that many may not like, even if they’ve been following it since it was revealed.
