Assassin’s Creed Valhalla confirmed after eight hour livestream

There has been a sizeable Assassin’s Creed shaped hole in our lives for the last while since the release of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

Released back in 2018, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey was the culmination of improvements that brought the game squarely into the RPG realm.

While Odyssey was by no means a perfect game, it did showcase that when Ubisoft does something right it can get it incredibly right. We still highly recommend playing the game if you haven’t yet.

But today we bring you news of where the next Assassin’s Creed game will be taking place.

Ubisoft gave digital artist Kode Abdo, also known as Bosslogic, the privilege of releasing the first artwork for the new game. Rather than post an image to Instagram, the artist live streamed the creation of the artwork.

The header image of this story is a screenshot we grabbed one or two hours into the stream. It’s rather impressive how the process played out.

After many. many hours and a stream chat we really wish had been muted the artwork below was born.

After several rumours that the next Assassin’s Creed game would take place in Norway during the time of the Vikings we finally have confirmation that this is indeed the case with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

Ubisoft will reveal the first trailer for the game later today (30th April) at 17:00.

If you have eight hours to spare and want to see how the image above was created then you can check out the video below.
