Techland’s Hellraid has been resurrected as Dying Light DLC

Developer Techland supporting their game Dying Light with new content is nothing new as its been doing it since 2015. What makes the latest announcement about new DLC special, however, is that it’s based on a cancelled game called Hellraid.

Hellraid was a planned game from Techland that was put on hold years ago. When the developer announced it would be working on Dying Light 2 (which has been delayed), many believed that Hellraid would never see the light of day.

Now we know that the game has been adapted into DLC for the original Dying Light. Unfortunately, at the time of writing, we have little to go off of. What we do have is a short teaser trailer (below), a single screenshot (above) and some boilerplate descriptions:

“Shake up your Dying Light experience with the upcoming paid DLC introducing a new game mode based on Techland’s unreleased first-person fantasy slasher Hellraid. Explore a new dungeon area, arm yourself with brand-new weapons, and face vicious enemies straight from the depths of Hell. Tackle this fresh challenge alone or join forces with your friends for a thrilling co-op,” reads the Steam page.

As you can see in the thumbnail of the teaser trailer a Steam page is now live so you can wishlist the DLC. Right now there’s no price attached to the software, so we can’t even speculate how much content there is based on price.

Dying Light – Hellraid is planned for a Summer 2020 launch for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. We assume that’s the US Summer, which is between June and August.
