Last year the Epic Games Store gave away six Batman games at once and many believed this was the best day on the platform. Now today challenges it with fewer free titles, but maybe more interesting ones in the form of Borderlands: The Handsome Collection and Sludge Life.

Starting with the bigger name of the two The Handsome Collection is a bundle of Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. More than that this also includes the massive amount of DLC which exists for both titles.

The Handsome Collection is completely free to download here until 4th June.

What makes this giveaway even crazier is the existence of the Borderlands Legendary Collection on Nintendo Switch. This Switch bundle takes The Handsome Collection and adds in the original Borderlands (and all its DLC). The difference here is that, when the Legendary Collection launches it will cost $49.99 (~R872).

On the indie side of things is Sludge Life, the latest game from publisher Devolver Digital and developed by Terri Vellmann & Doseone. The latter pair teamed up in the past to make the game High Hell.

Revealed back in February for the Epic Games Store and Nintendo Switch, no mention was made of it being free on PC when it launched, so it has been a bit of a surprise.

Those who still want to buy the game on Nintendo Switch (a theme in this story) will have to wait, however, as that’s only coming in the future. No definite date for that port has been revealed as of yet.

“Roam a tiny island stuck on a sludge covered planet as upcoming tagger GHOST, a breezy bandit set on staking their claim amongst the graffiti elite. Traverse the corporately branded landscape, link up with other taggers, and steal junk and hearts along the way. Will you become the king of the island and tag every open inch, infiltrate sludge-pumping corporation GLUG, or just take it all down in flames with you?” Reads a description of the game.

You can see how that plays out in the trailer below.

Sludge Life can be downloaded from the Epic Games Store for free until 28th June.
