Movies, shows and more from DC to be shown off at ‘FanDome’

Without big conventions like Comic Con (Africa or otherwise) happening as intended in 2020, DC has decided to create its own online event called FanDome to parade its latest projects.

“The DC FanDome is the place to hear highly anticipated announcements and the latest news, see exclusive footage, and venture into themed worlds designed to entertain everyone from movie and TV superfans to gamers and readers, to families and kids. With special presentations to engage fans in every time zone across the globe, you’ll have the opportunity to have an experience that’s all your own,” reads a press release sent to us.

The event is taking place in a few months, starting on 22nd August 10:00 PDT (19:00 local time) and running for 24 hours here at the official site.

The movies and TV shows in the list below have been confirmed to be present at FanDome in some way. We may be seeing new trailers, announcements, or just some panels from the people involved in each.

It’s important to make note of that as, just because a project is on the list below doesn’t necessarily mean something big is going to happen around it at FanDome.

We’re saying all of this to temper some of our own expectations. Watchmen is listed here and, while we’d love to see a second season of the superb show, that may not be what happens.

  • Aquaman
  • Batwoman
  • Black Lightning
  • Black Adam
  • DC Super Hero Girls
  • DC’s Legends of Tomorrow
  • DC’s Stargirl
  • Doom Patrol
  • Harley Quinn
  • Lucifer
  • Pennyworth
  • SHAZAM!
  • Supergirl
  • Superman & Lois
  • Teen Titans GO!
  • The Batman
  • The Snyder Cut of Justice League
  • The Suicide Squad
  • The Flash
  • Titans
  • Watchmen
  • Wonder Woman 1984
  • Young Justice: Outsiders

The event is separated into various “Verses”, each of which have its own focus and can be accessed from various parts of the website.

WatchVerse, for example, will focus on movies, shows, games and other in-home entertainment. We’re banking on this being the most popular of the five areas, the rest of which you can see in the “map” at the bottom of this post.

This is all rather ambitious on DC’s part with this looking to be everything to everyone. Hopefully it ends pleasing at least some of those tuning in.

DC FanDome is a free event and will be hosted in many other languages besides English in an effort to make it accessible to everyone. The landing page for the event is here and will be updated as we get closer to the start date.
