Sony’s rescheduled PS5 reveal happening this week Thursday

Last week Sony had intended to reveal its new PS5 console to the world, but given the anti-racism protests happening across the globe, the company chose to postpone its event to a later date.

That date is this week Thursday, with a video surfacing on PlayStation’s official YouTube page confirming 11th June as the date for the event. It’s scheduled to kick off at 13:00 PDT, which is 22:00 local time for those who are able to stay up late enough to check out the new console and what it has to offer.

Much has been made of the PS5 and its impending commercial release later in the year, as well as how Sony will be able to effectively meet demand given the issues with manufacturing and supply chains as a result of COVID-19.

With the Xbox Series X already out in the open, the pressure will be on for Sony to impress with the PS5.

It will also be worthwhile seeing what titles Sony will have readied for launch on the new console, and perhaps most importantly, how much it plans to sell it for.

With rumours on pricing nearing the R20k mark according to some, PlayStation players may need to gird their loins in order to but the new console.

All of this is conjecture at this point, however, with all being revealed come Thursday evening.

We just hope that Sony details all elements of the PS5 and does not leave us guessing as to what the price will be.

You’ll be able to watch the live streamed PlayStation 5 reveal event here on the evening of the 11th.
