You can now get the Nintendo Switch on a Vodacom contract

Recently the Nintendo Switch got a rather steep price increase because of the poor exchange rate of the Rand. Now the local distributors of the console have teamed up with Vodacom to offer customers the ability to get the console on contract.

As a reminder the new RRP for the regular Nintendo Switch is R7 999. The cheaper Nintendo Switch Lite is a bit less with a RRP of R4 999.

Three contracts are available, all of which come with a Vodacom data contract which includes a a modem.

The cheapest options – a 2GB contract – can be seen in the list below. The amount of data can be increased to 3, 5, 10, 20 or 30 GB, with the price increasing accordingly.

  • Nintendo Switch Lite + 3 month Nintendo Nintendo Switch Online membership: R249 X 36 months
  • Nintendo Switch + Nintendo Labo Kit + 3 month Nintendo Nintendo Switch Online membership: R349 X 36 months
  • Nintendo Switch + Nintendo Labo Kit + 3 month Nintendo Nintendo Switch Online membership + Carry case + screen protector + Mario Kart 8 Deluxe + The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening: R569 X 24 months

Don’t worry about breaking out the calculator because we already did. The above contracts, after paying for them in full, will cost R8 964, R12 564‬ and R13 656 respectively. Unsurprisingly this is significantly more than buying the consoles and those extra items upfront.

And, again, should you choose larger data bundles, the prices go up even higher. On top of all of that these are only valid until 7th July and while stocks last.

Vodacom contracts now become the third way in which the store supports financing of a console. Mobicred and FNB payment plans were available before now.

Click on the images of each contract type below to be taken to the official Nintendo store website where you can apply for them. After applying you will be notified about your application and, if it’s accepted, your items will then be delivered.
