Fallout is being turned into a series by Amazon Studios and Kilter Films

Amazon Studios has licensed the rights to produce a Fallout series and the good news is that Kilter Films will be producing the project.

If the name Kilter Films doesn’t ring any bells, it’s the name behind HBO’s Westworld.

Of course Bethesda Game Studios director Todd Howard will have a hand on the series as an executive producer.

“Over the last decade, we looked at many ways to bring Fallout to the screen,” Howard said in a statement.

“But it was clear from the moment I first spoke with Jonah and Lisa a few years ago, that they and the team at Kilter were the ones to do it right. We’re enormous fans of their work and couldn’t be more excited to work with them and Amazon Studios,” he added.

Other executive producer named for the series include Jonathan Nolan, Lisa Joy and Athena Wickham from Kilterfilms. James Altman from Bethesda Softworks will also serve as an executive producer.

As for the series itself, there isn’t much to go on except that it will be about Fallout. That in itself is rather broad as there are quite literally thousands of stories to be told from the Fallout universe.

Bethesda did publish a tweet on Thursday evening but aside from the Prime Video logo showing us where we’d be able to watch the show (Amazon Studios’ involvement sorta gave that away if we’re honest) there isn’t much to go on.

There is no word on a possible release date or indeed when production on the series will begin. Of course, this announcement comes at a time where the world is gripped by a pandemic so we’re not expecting this Fallout series anytime soon.

For those looking for a Fallout fix this month, Fallout 76 is coming to Xbox Game Pass if you’re morbidly curious to try it out. We managed to play for all of 39 minutes a few months ago when the game hit Steam. Can you last longer?
