With curfew in place again, here’s the permit you’ll need for travel between 21:00 and 04:00

Following an address by President Cyril Ramaphosa on Sunday evening, South Africans now face tougher restrictions at level three lockdown.

Among those tougher restrictions is the implementation of a curfew for all citizens once again.

“Every person is confined to his or her place of residence from 21H00 until 04H00 daily, except where a person has been granted a permit, which corresponds with Form 2 of Annexure A, to perform a service permitted under Alert Level 3, or is attending to a security or medical emergency,” state the newly amended regulations gazetted on Sunday evening.

The form is similar to the form we saw during the initial lockdown. The form will need to be signed and stamped by an employer and identification will need to be carried along with this form at all times.

However, as businesses no longer need permission to operate as an essential service from the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission, that permit slip is no longer needed.

A snapshot of the form you will need to carry with you when travelling during curfew.

The form above can be found in the regulations located here.

Government has reiterated that those who can work from home should continue to do so.
