Kingdoms of Amalur remaster to have a collector’s edition & expansion

In early June we learned that Kingdoms of Amalur would be remastered as the subtitle “Re-Reckoning”. Now we know that it will be more than a simple remaster as both an expansion and a physical collector’s edition have been announced.

The expansion is called Fatesworn and it will, unfortunately, not release with the base game on 8th September 2020. Fatesworn will only be available in 2021 and there’s unfortunately little information provided for it.

What we do know is that it will not be free. Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is priced at $39.99 / €39.99 / £34.99 and will launch on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The Fate Edition of the game will include Fatesworn and will sell for $54.99 / €54.99 / £47.99.

When it comes to game South Africa usually has its prices set closer to the US dollar, so the base game should be around R682 and the Fate Edition R938 going off of the current exchange rate.

Along with this announcement also comes a new trailer. While we’d love to have actual gameplay to compare to the original from 2012, instead this is a pre-made animation.

For those not turned away by the two editions of the games listed above, the collector’s edition may be what you want to spend your money on.

It’s priced at $109.99 / €109.99 / £99.99 and, again by basing a price of of the US dollar, that converts to around R1 878 should it ever wind up in South Africa.

For the money the big ticket item is a figurine of the character Alyn Shir which measures in at 20.8 X 18 wide X 14.2 centimetres.

Also included in the big box is a custom keychain and five pieces of artwork.

While we do prefer the original collector’s edition from years ago, it was more expensive.

Regardless of which version of the game you prefer pre-orders have opened up already on the official website. Store pages for Steam, the PlayStation Store and the Microsoft Store have also gone up, but errors pop up when we try to access the latter two. Hopefully this is just because the announcement happened a few minutes ago at the time of writing.
